Honeycomb: The Formstelle Pavilion

Formstelle Pavilion

Lasered cut-outs create the honeycomb façade of the ‘Formstelle’ building, located in the German small-town of Töging on the Inn. This single-storey pavilion stands at the entrance to the former VAW aluminum works. Along with the cafeteria and network, it forms the Campus Netzwerk. Stefan Hanninger and Robert Maier of FORMAT ELF Architekten designed the pavilion with the striking aluminum façade, which also serves as the architects’ head office. FORMAT ELF’s design concept is carried through from the façade to the interior: the custom-made furniture, like the building’s exterior, has been kept in black and white.
