I like it. What is it?
Anthony Burrill’s illustration and 3D-design was on display at last week's the Istanbul Design Week.
The British designer Anthony Burrill works were shown at last weeks Istanbul Design Week and are one example of what this event is looking for.
Anthony Burrill has been commissioned by cultural, social and commercial clients around the world. Burrill has been hired by clients such as The Economist, the British Library and London Underground, regularly collaborates with musicians, artists and designers. His installations and 3-D works have been commissioned for example by Colette in Paris and The Design Museum in London.
His works range across a variety of media, including posters, moving image and three-dimensional work, combining an instinctive handling of color and composition with a persuasive, up-beat and witty approach to words.
Printmaking is an integral part of Burrill’s practice. His limited edition prints with slogans including “Work Hard and Be Nice to People” have become mantras for the design community and beyond.
Burrill has taken part in group and solo exhibitions around the world. That his work was shown at last weeks’ Istanbul Design Week 2011 fits into the events’ objective to bring a “new breath to design vision by relating Istanbul-the new design center-to Europe and other world cities” and to make it “Europe’s one of the most important urban projects.”
