Ikos Flexible Research Station

Constructed in the form of an icosahedron roughly 3.20 metres in diameter, the station was designed for research in jungle treetops. The lightweight structure can be suspended from a hot-air balloon and transported to its working location, where it is attached to the giants of the rainforest, allowing tree-dwelling animals to be observed at close quarters. Ikos can accommodate up to three scientists for five days at a time. It contains sleeping hammocks and laboratory space and also provides protection against sun and rain.
