DETAIL Climate Forum 2025 in Düsseldorf

The days of ignorance are numbered. Climate change and its consequences present mounting challenges to architecture and the construction industry. Resource-efficient construction is the order of the day.

What possibilities do natural building materials offer in an urban context? How can existing buildings be modernized in a climate-friendly way? Does new construction even have a future from a CO₂ perspective?

The Detail Climate Forum, "Resource-Efficient Construction: Can Architecture Protect the Climate?" seeks practical answers to these questions. References from the fields of architecture and construction show how energy efficiency, the circular economy, and innovative materials can significantly reduce the carbon footprint while allowing for inspiring, individual design.

The following topics will be discussed in specialist presentations by experts from the fields of architecture, planning, and construction:

• How does climate-friendly construction pay off in the face of sustainability and cost pressures?
• Demolition Moratorium: Will new construction be permitted in the future?
• Next generation: What training do architects need to face the challenges ahead?
• How can other stakeholders be convinced to embrace an urban construction revolution?
• What opportunities and obligations do legislation and politics offer?

After the individual presentations, a panel discussion will allow participants to further explore and exchange ideas with the experts about the role of architecture in a sustainable future. Join us in person or online at Detail Climate Forum II 2025 on October 2 in Düsseldorf.
