Large formats and natural materials are key themes

Florim Ceramiche manufactures ceramic surfaces for all architectural and interior design requirements. Founded in the early 1960s the company today has six ‘Made in Italy’ brands (Floor Gres, Rex, Cerim, Casa dolce casa, Casamood and Slim/4+), which between them offer a wide variety of product types. New collections were launched in each of these brands at Cersaie in Bologna last autumn, and the company’s theme for the show was nature and technology and, in response to the increasing interest in large-format porcelain stoneware, Florim has again introduced a number of oversize formats within the product offerings.
Rex glazed porcelain tiles are inspired by precious natural materials and the i Classici family of products offers a colour palette of shades from pearl and ivory to greys and browns, for an understated, intimate elegance. New for 2016 is Statuario (top), seen in the 240 x 120 cm format.
Casamood is offering a number of additional sizes, colours and thicknesses in its Neutra collection: alongside the large formats, as shown below, there will be six permanent plain colours in the collection with others added each year, devised to meet the continuing needs of fashion and design. There will also be six new forms of glass mosaics that, in conjunction with porcelain stoneware, will complete the project. From Cerim comes Maps, seen above, its light, clean lines inspired by the industrial simplicity of concrete. In 10 mm thickness, in white, beige, light grey, dark grey and graphite, with a 20 mm alternative in beige and light grey only, there are two finishes, four formats, mosaics and listellos.
At the foot of this column is seen Pietre/3, described as the natural evolution of a project which has marked the history of Casa dolce casa, following a creative path that steers clear of passing trends to give a timeless elegance, in a selection of natural shades. Unusual patterns enrich this collection, designed to provide a widespread sense of balance and symmetry. Available in limestone colours of white, almond, pearl, taupe, ash and coal, in matt finish and 10 mm thickness across the range (also 20 mm in some colours), there are six formats of 180 x 80 to 60 x 30 cm, with mosaics, listellos and decor tiles.
