The guest of honour at The Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair this year is Oki Sato. He has created an installation and lounge marking the fair's main entrance that immediately sends visitor expectations soaring.
The installation uses laser-cut plastic sheets to evoke the notion of snowcapped mountains, complete with laser-cut ice crystals. The installation also features other items of furniture designed by Nendo the Japanese studio Sato founded.
Nendo regards the fair as the ski-jump to his careerer, where after exhibiting there nine years ago he was discovered.
It is the tenth year fair has invited a designer of international renown to imagine the lounge.
