Lightweight Concrete Structures

This article discusses historical examples of concrete structural systems along with various possibilities and uses of folded and curved beams, as well as textile-reinforced concrete shell structures and trusses. Glass-fibre or carbon textiles can be integrated into high-fluidity, fine-grained concrete obviating the need for large cover dimensions. Extremely slim, lightweight construction elements are the result. Their application in nearly all areas of building are possible – from internal fit outs, to high quality exposed concrete walls and lightweight, long span constructions.
