Creating really good subsidised housing has resulted in much expended brain power for architects - though arguably not enough thought is given to this most noble of architectural causes. In an attempt to address this, an exhibition will run in the Palais de Chaillot architecture museum in Paris from mid March until 2013. Fresh Architectures' design shown here will feature in the exhibition.
The snappily named Towards a New Public Housing 2 in the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, follows on from an exhibition of the same name that featured work from 2009 to 2011. The aim of both the exhibitions was to resist the encroaching banality of public housing resulting from over bureaucracy and regulation and ever decreasing budgets. The exhibition also has historical sections and looks at housing innovations in other countries.
