Samuel Wilkinson’s Mantis Desk is a table that comes with attachable accessories.
The British designer Samuel Wilkinson designed the Mantis Desk for the London-based company Case Furniture: A solid wood table with removable plates and accessories to hide and store various objects and features usually used at an office desk.
Thus one can for example install a removable plate on the table to neatly run wires and computer cords into the storage tray underneath the desktop.
In addition there is a small drawer found below the desktop that is ideal for paper or to hideaway documents. There is the option to place a file holder at one side of the table to store folders and documents in an upright position.
Very useful in open office spaces is the feature to install a metal plate fixed to one side of the table that serves as a privacy screen and doubles as a magnetic board.
The Mantis Desk by Samuel Wilkinson is 140 cm wide by 80 cm deep (55 inches wide by 31 inches deep) and composed of exposed-grain wood and off-white powder coated metal.
When taken apart all pieces of the desk can be laid out onto its top plate thus making it easy to transport all necessary parts at once.
