Mexican townhouses: Alejandro Sanchez Garcia Arquitectos.

Although they look as though they are set in a forest, these are apparently four individual houses set in a large garden in the downtown area of the Mexican town of Valle de Bravo. The houses, built in 2009, are vertically arranged in their planning so as to constrain the footprint and therefore save the garden.

The architect Alejandro Sanches Garcia Architectos has given the houses two aspects: a fully glazed open side and a side screened by a delicate timber cladding providing greater privacy.

Each house has three storeys, two bedrooms, a living and dining area, a TV, kitchen, and utility room. Best of all perhaps is a second floor balcony that gives a sense of sitting in the tree tops.
