Mirror play on the beach: Cabin by ECE Architecture
Playing with mirrors is endlessly fascinating, especially at the beach in the British town of Worthing, where a fully reflective cabin now stands. Apart from its mirrored surface, this cabin is exactly like ordinary English beach cabins.
Those enjoying a day at the seaside are not only astounded by this unusual structure, they are also motivated to create amazing selfies and postings, which can be seen Mirror cabin Worthing.
The reflective cabin was designed by the local ECE Architecture studio in cooperation with Mark Sephton from Creative Forager. Laser-cut mirrored sheets of acrylic were installed onto wooden panels. Dark-grey gaps between the sheets help define the classic shape of the cabin.
Beachgoers’ enthusiasm has created such a wave that Stuart Eatock of ECE Architecture is overwhelmed. He now wants to turn the temporary installation into a permanent feature. He learned that playing with mirrored objects is always appealing last summer, when he implemented the same project in Vantage point in Scotland.
