The logistics company TNT is planning to become a totally CO2-neutral business within the next few years. The new branch office in the Dutch town of Hoofddorp is both a milestone and a test model towards this goal. In this case, the client requested a zero emission building, a LEED Platinum Certificate and a to date rarely achieved A+++ rating in the Dutch energy certificate.
The six-storey new build is arranged around a central, east-west aligned atrium, which functions as the entrance area, a source of daylight and an informal meeting place.
