Educational Buildings

The oldest interdisciplinary university in the Netherlands, Hanze University Groningen, commissioned Jan Snel to build a new building in modular design. It has a total area of 4,100 m2 and was built in six months. During the renovation of the existing rooms, lectures continued to be held in them. By the time the renovation work had been completed, the new building was ready, offering additional administrative office space. Another reference is the new building for the de Pionier primary school. It houses classrooms, study rooms and a general common room. The colourful colour scheme and slant of the facades are both striking. The school building was erected in just four weeks.
