Multiple-Dwelling House in Munich

The form and volume of this semi-detached house, which contains three dwellings, is largely determined by the adjoining building. Raised above a two-storey cube with concrete-filled blockwork walls, the pitched roof forms a continuation of the neighbouring structure – in this case, however, with a covering of glass sheets. At certain points beneath the overlapping, printed sheets of glass on the street side are vertically sliding windows, which serve to light and ventilate the sanitary spaces and the gallery. The areas of the roof beneath the gallery on the south side are double glazed. Glass sliding doors in the plane of the slope provide access to the roof terrace. The fully glazed west gable is screened by fixed aluminium louvres.
