There are probably not many who managed to miss hearing about 'the cloud' in an IT context last year. It seems the buzz word has now found a new domain: it is used to describe a new residential tower design – a modern kind of 'Cloud Cuckoo Land'.
The twin towers, which will be built in Seoul, were presented by the Rotterdam-based architects MVRDV two weeks ago. At the level of the 27th floor, the taller tower with a height of 300 m as well as the smaller one with 260 m, extend outwards with a 10-floor-tall volume connecting the two towers like a central pixelated cloud.
The Cloud will be accessible by means of special express elevators and offer a sky lounge, cafés, restaurants, a conference centre, fitness and wellness studios on an area of 14,000 m², with pools and gardens on the terraces.
