Redensification of a Paris Perimeter Block Development

This new apartment building in the inner courtyard of a perimeter block development in the 12th arrondissement of Paris is based on a study of redensification. Changes to the building and zoning laws led the French real-estate company Gecina to commission the architects with examining all their properties with a view to additional development.
Among other things, Mars Architectes saw potential in the grounds of a pre-existing building from the 1970s that stands near Place de la Nation. They have realized a four-storey apartment building featuring 14 flats; moreover, they have transformed the dreary back yard into a green oasis.
