Naked dance: Images by Shinichi Maruyama.

Francis Bacon intuitively saw and painted something of what these beautiful photographs by Shinichi Maruyama reveal. Maruyama is a artist photographer based in New York. These these photographs of naked people dancing in front of the camera reveal notions of space that we all occupy. The images were achieved not by long exposure, but by using a strobe to capture thousands of images per second which were later superimposed. The photographer has a long standing interest in capturing movement that the eye cannot perceive.
