Office Building in Madrid

This unconventional tubular office structure – partly buried in the ground – affords clear views of the tree-lined site and consists of two parts. Drawn over the corridor zone along the northern side is a 20 mm transparent perspex skin made up of ten standardized elements that are cross-tongued at the edges and sealed with silicone to maintain an uninterrupted view out. To the south, a sandwich element of polyester sheeting with translucent polythene insulation shields the working areas from glare. This 12-metre-long unit was ordered through the German railways organization, which uses the same material in some of its carriages. The complex construction sequence involves many different processes.
