Office Complex with Shops in Lisbon

Occupying an entire street block, this office complex is supported by a solid plinth structure that contains a basement garage and a number of shops. The plinth is closed at the top by a cantilevered platform, on which stand eight blocks of different lengths but almost identical design. Access to the platform is via external stairs. With their steel-and-glass construction, the office tracts have a sense of lightness and transparency. The facades, with alternating glazed and closed elements, form the unifying feature. The climatic concept includes a second layer of glazing 50 cm within the outer skin, as well as a pool of water on top of the plinth. The evaporation of the water results in an adiabatic cooling effect.
