I wonder if Claes Oldenburg inspired Mattis Esnault when when he designed the lovely Ondule Chair. Or perhaps the inspiration was more circuitous than that as Esnault claims his inspiration came from the audio visual and specifically the digital world.
The 3d nature of the surface is created with foam that has been skinned with Kvadrat fabric. The piece was the winner of a French Schools of Design competition and was selected and financed by the 'Valorisation de l'Innovation dans l'Ameublement' (VIA).
