The True North project has created a small living and working district near the centre of Detroit. The architects from EC3 have developed a dynamic ensemble of eight Quonset huts that can be used creatively and diversely as a community-based project that will enliven the city.

Red lighthouse: East Street Exchange by We Made That

There's now a red glow in Walworth, namely at the East Street library extension, designed by the young architectural practice We Made That and creating new community rooms in the process.

Like a signpost in the woods: Yellow House by Alejandro Soffia

A house in the dense Chilenian forest is to be a solution to mankind's growing need for dwelling places. Assembled out of pre-fabricated SIP (structural insulated panel) elements, the Yellow House is seen by the architect Alejandro Soffia as a way for reproducing quality in a swift and inexpensive way for the future. The 100-square-metre private residence with breath-taking views is the start.
