In October, our readers were particularly enthusiastic about the following three contributions: a weekend cottage with a sauna cabin in Czech Republic, a house on piles in southern Sweden and a holiday home in the wildly romantic landscape of Poland.
Charred Wood: Weekend Cottage in the Jizera Mountains
The cottage in Jiřetín pod Bukovou, a village in the Jizera Mountains, has existed since the 1980s but was never completed. Now it has been extensively altered by Mjölk Architekti and complemented with a sauna cabin.

Sleeping Above the Wildlife: House on Piles in Southern Sweden
Sandellsandberg’s aim was to create the illusion of a dissolving house disappearing into nature. However, this illusion is no mere gimmick: it will enable guests to safely spend the night amid wild animals.
