Chemical-Free Swimming: Borden Park Natural Pool in Edmonton
When the Canadian city of Edmonton built a replacement for the public outdoor swimming pool in Borden Park, its planners lay great value on environmentally friendly water purification without chemical additives. This takes place with three separate filtering basins in which the water is cleaned both mechanically, by flowing through gravel and sand, and organically by plants.

Boathouse Under White Sails: Water Sports Centre on Formentera
Formentera’s new water sports centre is located at an exposed site between the Mediterranean, the port village of La Savina and an inland lake. The local architect Marià Castelló has given the building the character of a wooden boathouse and provided it a white and deeply projecting roof incorporating fabric sun-sails.
