Outstanding Sports Facilities - 2013 IOC/IAKS Awards

Every two years, the International Olympic Commitee IOC in cooperation with the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities IAKS honours new and refurbished sports facilities with an architecture award. This year, 97 projects from 30 countries participated. German architects dominated the competition and gmp collected two Gold and one Bronze medal.
In parallel, the International Paralympic Comittee IPC awards barrier-free access sports facilities. Furthermore, there was a Special Prize for a non-profit project, and an architecture and design award for students and young professionals. The awards ceremony was held in Cologne on 22 October 2013.
