Pavilion in Venice

The pavilion, which marks the entrance to the grounds of the 50th Biennial of art in Venice, consists of lengths of oxidized steel tube not unlike huge barrels or sections of a pipeline. A coffered sheet-metal roof structure ties the various elements together. Some of them are glazed at the ends and contain simple fittings or display material. They accommodate, among other things, a box office and cloakroom spaces as well as a small police station.
