Persian carpets – reinterpreted by Inga Sempé

A good example of this phenomenon is the Meteo carpet collection, which interprets the classical Persian carpet in a contemporary key and which saw its market launch at the recent Maison & Objet trade fair in Paris.
Conceived by Inga Sempé for the Italian rug label Golran, the collection displays the French designer's sensitive approach while maintaining a balance between artistic forms and an artisan technique in a fairly direct way. Like everything that Sempé designs, the carpets have a gentle and poetic quality and display the touch of humour that is typical of her work.
The carpets are knotted in wool and silk in Nepal and each design is available in four different sizes: 200×300, 260×300, 260×350, 300×400 centimetres.
