'Pistons' an interior by MAAJ Architects
Here is an interior design concept based around two flights of stairs. The stairs have alternating treads usually reserved for tight loft extensions where it is difficult to fit in a proper stair. Here with just 57m2 to play with, MAAJ Architects make a clever sculptural play of what some would consider a predicament.
With just black and white surfaces, and a natural blonde timber floor, the aesthetic focus on the unusual stairs is apparent and inventive. I remain less sanguine about descending the stair in a sleepy haze... but I am sure you get used to it.
