Plastic Concrete - Sculptures in the Waldpark in Potsdam

The four organically shaped “terminals” invite passers-by either to stop and rest or to let off steam. The sitting terminal, like an outsize mattress, consists of three layers of reinforced gun-sprayed concrete on a precisely moulded base of cement-bonded sand. Two other structures – a terminal for trampoline jumping and a play terminal – were constructed in a similar way. The rust-red surfaces are partly covered with a layer of rubber. In the slide terminal, visitors climb by various routes to theentrances of the intriguing tunnel chutes that emerge from the head of the sculpture. Inthis case, the base structure is reinforced with in-situ concrete walls, while thesuperstructure is encased in sprayed concreteover expanded metal mesh.
