Primary School in Vienna

The articulation of this single-storey school echoes that of the village surroundings in which it is set. Along the north and south sides of the building are spaces for various ancillary functions. In the middle zone between these two strips are five pairs of west-facing classrooms with planted courtyards that provide scope for outdoor teaching. The development has a flexible structure and can be extended at the narrow end at a later date. The school building and the playground are screened from the road by the sports hall.
