Pure light from a bottle: by Arik Levy for Lasvit.

By using modern lighting technology, Arik Levy has created a minimal fitting that is apparently made from bottles. The result is pure in its aesthetic, but also has conceptual purity.

The workmanship is exquisite, and allows all superfluous details to be expunged, leaving delicately coloured glass that glows from within.

Using the principles of additive mixing, light from the different coloured glass overlaps forming new colours.

Whilst in principle only Red, Green and Blue glass is required to produce any colour, the shades have been manufactured in a range of colours to provide greater flexibility in the way the shades can be combined. A white bottle that is reflective and translucent, gives the reflected colours greater intensity when hung as part of the composition.
