Reissued: Desk by Poul Kjærholm

These tables, designed in the finest detail by Poul Kjærholm for the Royal Danish Academy of Arts in 1955, are now part of Carl Hansen & Son’s collection.
Poul Kjærholm was a master of the art of design using steel and wood. His expertise is expressed perfectly in the tables he created in 1955 for the Royal Danish Academy of Arts. Characterized by clear forms and light grace, the tables made a significant contribution to the designer’s reputation as a pioneer of Danish functionalism.
The two tables are available with tops made of Oregon pine or oak veneer, and with oiled, varnished or black-lacquered surfaces. The steel frame comes lacquered in black or grey. As desired, the piece can be fitted with a drawer of either oiled, varnished or black-lacquered oak. The Professor Desk (PK52) is 72 cm high, 186.5 cm long and 85 cm wide; the Student Desk (PK52A) is 72 cm high, 141.5 cm long and 85 cm wide. Both tables will be available for purchase in October.
