Ride in Style: the Epona Rocking Horse

Photo: Federal Design House
Epona is the name of this rocking horse, which was created by Ottawa’s Federal Design House studio. Designed for toddlers, the rocking frame consists of old copper cables, a wooden seat and a crosspiece for holding on. The only drawback is the saddle, which is made of genuine rabbit fur. Certainly, faux fur would provide a more animal-friendly alternative. Otherwise, this is a lovely product, although it might be advisable to place cushions on the floor in front of and behind the rocking child. However gentle the horse may seem, if it starts bucking, it might throw its rider. When the little ones have gone to bed, Epona can also serve as a comfortable footrest by the chesterfield.
