Roof Renovation for a Recreational Pool

Drawing: Manufacturer

Now the intent was to permanently repair damaged insulation and support structure, caused by warm humid air and chlorine vapours from the interior. The planning office Göttker & Schöfbeck took on the renovation concept for the 1600 m2, five-sided tent roof and the smaller flat-roof areas in front of it. To cope with a complex system of defects, a complete dismantling of the entire old roof was necessary. The new structure included an additional ventilation system and a diffusion-open insulation system. Thus, if moisture penetrates again complete drying can take place. In the implementation, a cold self-adhesive, aluminium-reinforced vapour barrier was installed on the existing wooden formwork, which was carefully connected to the facade and ascending components. The Rockwool insulation was installed over this in two layers: first 140 mm thick Masterrock GF panels, as well as 120 mm thick layer of Masterrock GF lined, which is factory lined with a sarking membrane for immediate weather protection.
