The portfolio of sandellsandberg architects from Sweden ranges from urban projects to the design of one-off furniture pieces. Since 1995, under the direction of Thomas Sandell, the Stockholmbased office has been developing projects marked by creative approaches and uncomplicated architectural language. Their work reflects a harmonious blend of traditional Scandinavian architecture and modern design elements. These principles can be seen in their Outdoor Eriksberg project, a series of buildings for the Eriksberg Nature Reserve in southeastern Sweden. In its form and choice of materials, the entrance pavilion is modelled on a traditional Swedish barn. The architects’ present-day interpretation features an asymmetrical thatched roof, oversized round window and a facade of playful drapes.
