Sandwich sofa by Katrin Greiling

The needs of youth (think student apartment) have proven the virtue of this sandwich sofa. The Droog sofa is called Lounge of Layers and was designed by Katrin Greiling, who works with Studiogreiling in Stockholm and Berlin. The couch, with or without backrest, is made of several upholstered layers sewn together in various thicknesses and colours. This has a certain charm, but it also recalls the times when mattresses were simply piled up to create an improvised sofa. The advantage was that unexpected overnight guests could be offered relatively comfortable accommodation.
