Looking as though they might have been hacked off a quaint cottage in rural somewhere, Reeds – R2 presented by Els Woldhek & Georgi Manassiev starred at the recent Sofia Design Week.
The fine texture of reeds gives creates an overwhelming tactile quality that is difficult to appreciate when reeds are used as roofing. Close-up, where the textures can be touched, the impression is of something almost living.
These sculptural tables would look equally at home in a gallery as well as the kitchen of a rustic farmhouse.
