Shortlist of this year's special awards

The RIBA has announced the shortlist of this year’s special awards, which are chosen from the RIBA Award winners. The awards will be presented at the Stirling Prize ceremony on 11 October in Liverpool.
The Manser Medal, awarded for the best one-off house or major extension designed by an architect in the UK: • Accordia, Cambridge by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios/Alison Brooks

The Stephen Lawrence Prize, intended to encourage fresh talent working with a budget of under £1 million: • Classroom of the Future, Camden/London by Gollifer Langston Architects
• Cremorne Riverside Centre, London by Sarah Wigglesworth Architects
• East Beach Cafe, Littlehampton by Heatherwick Studio
• Glass & Timber House, Dulwich by Hampson Williams
• The Sackler Crossing, Kew Gardens by John Pawson
The Crown Estate Conservation Award, given to the best work of conservation which demonstrates successful restoration or adaptation of an architecturally significant building: • De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on Sea by John McAslan & Partners
• Listed Wind Tunnels, Farnborough by Julian Harrap Architects
• Royal Festival Hall, London by Allies and Morrison
• St Pancras International, London by Alastair Lansley
• Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds by Levitt Bernstein Associates
The RIBA Sustainability Award, given for the building that demonstrates most elegantly and durably the principles of sustainable architecture: • Bristol Brunel Academy by Wilkinson Eyre Architects
• Manchester Civil Justice Centre by Denton Corker Marshall
• Oundle School Science Technology Block, Peterborough by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios
• Oxley Woods, Milton Keynes by Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners
The RIBA Sorrell Foundation Schools Award, a £5,000 prize presented to the architects of the best RIBA award-winning school (primary or secondary) with the aim of raising the standards of design in all new school building: • Bristol Brunel Academy by Wilkinson Eyre Architects
• Oundle School Science Technology Block, Peterborough by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios
• Pinewood Infant School, Farnborough by Hampshire County Council Architecture & Design Services
• St Marylebone Church of England School, London by Gumuchdjian Architects
• Westminster Academy at the Naim Dangoor Centre, London by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris
• Thomas Deacon Academy, Peterborough by Foster + Partners
The RIBA CABE Public Space Award, a new award to find the best examples of public space: • Old Market Square, Nottingham by Gustafson Porter • Royal Festival Hall, London by Allies and Morrison • Royal Observatory, Greenwich by Allies and Morrison
