Singing Ringing Tree

On a hill near Burnley in Lancashire, a musical sculpture – the »Singing, Ringing Tree« – has been erected. The great weight of this self-supporting structure serves to resist wind loads. With their different lengths and wall thicknesses, and slit in various ways, the pipes produce a range of musical tones when the wind blows.
