Single-Family House in Mollis

Situated in Mollis, a small community in the Swiss canton of Glarus, the house has an L-shaped layout. Private areas like the bedroom and children’s rooms are located on the ground floor, while the large, open family spaces – kitchen, living and dining rooms – are on the upper floor and enjoy a magnificent view of the landscape. Connected by a staircase to the garden, the loggia forms a link between indoors and outdoors. The house is constructed largely of vertically cored bricks, with concrete earthquake-resistant walls at the two ends. The earthy colour of the rendering harmonizes with the vegetation. Internally, the floors are in the same tone, while he walls and ceilings are in a restrained white.
