Sliced golf balls: photographs by James Friedman.

Beauty is often found in the most unexpected of places. The photographer, James Friedman, has found it by slicing open golf balls! It began by slicing one ball to find out what was inside. Surprised by the beautiful pattern he discovered, he then cut-up several more balls he had laying around. This led to something of an obsession, and to this series of photographs titled “Interior Design”. I should also confess that as a child, I once sliced open a few golf balls. Inside I found little rubber sacks filled with a viscose liquid. Each sack was tied at the top and wrapped with an endless yarn of elastic band, encased in the familiar white dimpled shell. Clearly for all their beauty, the search for the perfect golf ball goes on.   Gratitude to enpundit.
