Snake eyes: S7 light by Nicholas Pichelin.

The Anglepoise lamp has been around since the early 1930s. Its enduring appeal, I contend, is to do with the aesthetic tension that ensues when it is arranged into what looks like a structurally impossible position. That, of course, and the fact that the lamp is very useful! I am hopeful that the S7 lamp designed by Nicholas Pichelin will exude the same kind of structural tension as it coils out of its box like a charmed snake. The lamp uses an LED light source and has a head that can be rotated 360 degrees. It can apparently illuminate a 20 square foot space. More aesthetically interesting is that its body can be contorted into virtually any shape, and with the more imaginative user becomes a sculpture in its own right. Charming!
