The kindergarten in Weiach, Switzerland, is composed of differently coloured cubes clad on the outside in artificial turf material.
L3P Architects chose three hues for the exterior: Straw Gold, Red Kraut and Olive Green. The fuzzy feel of the material encourages the kindergarten children to touch it, which is completely in line with intentions. The indoor circulation system additionally provides for variety by opening up onto various views, both within the kindergarten and to the outside. The new building, which is located next to the Swiss town's existing primary school, was assembled out of pre-fabricated structural wood components.
