During the hours of darkness, the facade of Star Place Shopping Centre in Kaohsiung has an iridescent effect, when white, blue or violet light-emitting diodes illuminate the elements.
To create a three-dimensional facade without wasting floor area, the architects designed a curtain-wall structure consisting of horizontal aluminium strips and vertical printed-glass fins set at different angles to the glazing.
