Surprisingly Agile: Acrobat Lamp by Marc Venot

Normann Copenhagen has just introduced Acrobat, an innovative lamp that can be adjusted into many positions, both vertical and horizontal. The two minimalistic parts – the lamp itself, which features a matte, transparent front and a long LED bulb, and the conical base – are held together with magnets alone. This means the light can be used as desired, either as a direct lamp for working or as a source of ambient illumination. Acrobat is available in four colours: grey, sand, black and aubergine.
French designer Marc Venot says: “An acrobat is someone who performs extraordinary physical feats without losing her balance. It seems that she could fall at any moment, but she doesn’t. She works magic with gravity, evoking fascination and surprise in the audience. That is the effect I would like to create with this lamp. I hope people who see it are fascinated, want to touch it and find out more about it.”
