Tableful of flooring material: 'Terra' by Simon Legald

The designer Simon Legald has come up with the 'Terra' Normann Copenhagen table series, following a visit to an Italian terrazzo factory that left him fascinated with the material produced according to original Italian practices. No two panels of the expressive material are alike, consisting of marble chips mixed with concrete and cast in large blocks that are then cut up. The results are always unique due to the special mixture of stone fragments that differ in shape and colour.
The 'Terra' table series makes use of these special characteristics for a piece of furniture that clearly recalls Mediterranean craft traditions while offering a nostalgic but modern look. Simon Legald has also played with the proportions between the solid tabletop and its slender legs for a rustic yet delicate overall effect. Rounded corners form a visual reference to the twisted legs,
'Terra', which is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, comes in two sizes and a choice of four colours, namely classic grey and beige as well as blue and green.
