In 2020, the Association of Dutch Architects (BNA) voted the Forum in Groningen the best building in the country. With a height of 45 meters and a total floor area of 17,000 m2, the ten-story cultural centre by NL Architects towers above the roofs of the old town. An asymmetrical shape with inclined facades characterises this “mountain of a building” and also ensures that it takes away as little daylight as possible from its neighbours and does not block lines of sight.
Geze Slimdrive SL sliding doors fit seamlessly into the building volume at the building entrances. Their design allows them to be installed in facades that are inclined by up to 9.9 degrees. The DC drive with a height of only 7 cm also supports seamless integration into the architecture. In addition, a second Slimdrive SL-RC2 inner sliding door provides additional security at the main entrance. With a bar lock and reinforced profile components, it achieves certified resistance class RC2 at night.
