Take a break from the northern winter at the River Quay, Queensland, Australia.

I can imagine sitting outside a restaurant over looking the Brisbane River. People in short sleeves amble past towards the amphitheatre, known as the River Green, to sit on the grass and soak-up the late summer sun. River Quay in Queensland, Australia designed by Arkhefield is that kind of place.
The interesting roof-scape on the single storey buildings come from a series of abstractions of traditional vernacular roof forms. These lead visitors towards the bolder double storey building that is built on the river edge. This building provides a sculptural termination to the development and a marker beyond which is the amphitheatre.
