The Design Scope of Melamine-Resin-Coated Surfaces

Melamine-resin coated materials have more than proven their worth in interior design and furniture construction. It is now possible, thanks to the latest developments in production techniques, to manufacture small series economically thereby allowing individual design wishes to be fulfilled. Manufacturing processes are divided into either low or high pressure techniques, and then laminated onto different foundation boards. Low pressure laminates are printed onto thin overlay papers, applied to particleboard or MDF and subsequently laminated with melamine resin. High pressure laminates, however, are more versatile and offer more scope to designers.
