The future of work is creative

Creative Spaces is the name of the five ­office-space solutions that Steelcase has developed together with Microsoft. In these five working environments, space and technology merge with each other and help people to generate new ideas, develop them further, and turn them into innovations. Creative work has a rhythm in which people and ideas converge and diverge. We need creative tools, technologies and spaces, that support the different stages of creative work and which are designed to allow everyone to participate. In reality, most offices are designed to support traditional process work rather than creative processes. Companies invest in technology and work environments, but think both separately.

The five new workplace concepts consist of the Focus Studio for concentrated, individual work, the Duo Studio for productive collaboration and the development of ideas in groups of two, the Ideation Hub, a Meeting Room, the Maker Commons, an open space for brainstorming and the exchange of ideas, and the Respite Room, a retreat area.
