The Komyo-ji-Tempel in Sajio

The 250-year-old Komyo-ji Temple, dating from the Edo period was located in Sajio. Although it was no longer possible to retain the historic structure, the temple has now been rebuilt, together with additional rooms for priests and accommodation for guests. The reconstruction marks a turning point in the history of the complex. There was also an important social aspect to the project in creating a place where people could congregate.
